Jeanie Marie Buss is an American businesswoman from the United States. She is the owner of control of the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association and currently is the president of the organization. Buss is a California native, and was raised by a wealthy family. Their father Jerry Buss was a real-estate businessman who became manager of the Lakers as well as other sports companies. The emotional strain she felt was exacerbated when her parents separated in the year 1972. She joined the family business in the age of 19 as general manager for the Los Angeles Strings tennis team. After that, she established an organization called the Los Angeles Blades team of professional roller hockey. She served as the president of the Great Western Forum before assuming the position of vice-president for the Lakers. Buss inherited the Lakers from her father in the year 2013. The five siblings she had took over the franchise through an estate trust. Buss was elected in 2013 to take over the presidency of Los Angeles Lakers. Los Angeles Lakers.
