Whitney Elizabeth Houston was conceived into a musical family, 9 August 1993, in Newark New Jersey. Whitney is a cousin and daughter to singing superstar Dionne. In Newark Whitney started singing in the church choir in the early years of her childhood. at the age of 15, she accompanied her mother backing vocals in Chaka's smash Im Every Woman from 1978.
