Reese Witherspoon began seriously pursuing her acting career after first taking a class at Stanford University. Her early critical successes included parts in movies like Pleasantville and Election but it was her performance as Elle Woods in the box office smash Legally Blonde that marked a turning point for her career. Witherspoon went on to win her first Academy Award in 2005 for her part in Walk the Line. Water for Elephants, This Means War, and Wild are some of her recent films. Also, she was in films such as The Dictator and The Incredible Burt Wonderstone. In addition to her acting profession, Ms. Williams is an accomplished painter, who has shown her artwork in several exhibitions.
